Have you stayed with us? In which villa?  When?  How was it? Would you come again?

Thanks, in advance, for sharing your thoughts about visit.

A very comfortable and well-furnished villa. Our party of 7 adults and 1 child had a lovely time there, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool, BBQ area and the close proximity to a sheltered beach. The additional amenities such as a daily housekeeper, catered meals on demand and complimentary airport transfers was icing on the cake. Would recommend this place to anyone

Take care, and I will definitely be in touch for our next Tobago trip

This was our first trip staying with another family and Mirage was the PERFECT setting. We were a total group of 10, ranging in age from 5-70, and everyone got exactly the vacation they were looking for! The pictures DO NOT do justice to the house - it was way bigger and more luxurious than we imagined, which made it possible for our group to be as together or as separate as we chose. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the walls are incredibly thick, enhancing the feeling of privacy. At the same time, the common spaces are extremely large and conducive for large gatherings for dinner or play. We were able to put our children in bed and have zero concern that they would be bothered by the noise of the adults staying up. The balcony views are exquisite and expansive. The house/groundskeepers are extremely attentive and the property's cleanliness is thoroughly maintained, inside and out.
The ocean experience, literally right outside the back gate was also incredible. The children were able to build sand castles and play on the beach and in the large tide pool that settles right off the back of the property. We were able to see many fish, crabs, sea urchins and even an octopus! We took the short, but rugged beach/ocean walk down to Black Rock a couple of times and it made a beautiful backdrop for pictures and family-friendly adventure!
We were also thoroughly impressed with Gillian, Mr. Small and all those we met who serviced Mirage. Throughout our week, we did have some minor issues arise, as soon as we notified them, they were very quick to resolve them, which made their customer service even more notable. They were intent on making our stay fabulous, and succeeded, we cannot thank them enough!
Although you could have a complete vacation and almost never leave the property, there is a ton of beauty throughout the island and I would highly recommend taking a tour of the forts, rainforest, beaches/bays and all the wonder of the island. It is truly a unique experience, you'll be glad you visited and will be just as eager as we are to return! NOTE: Travel on the island can be a little tricky if you're not familiar. We chose to rely on local drivers. With our large party, we were even able to have the oversized van driver who met us at the airport transport us for most of our stay. You will probably save frustration and money by utilizing the local taxi/transport options.

Gillian it has been a pleasure for both my team and myself staying at Luciana Villa, the view was awesome and the layout of the villa from outside to inside is definitely a paradise.  Thank you for your prompt service in times of need and definitely in the near future, if not the entire team together, most of us will be revisiting Luciana Villa. Once again thank you kindly for the opportunity to stay at paradise.

This was a great holiday experience had lots of fun. Its a very relaxing place the view is great and the air feels very fresh , the place is also very spacious and clean.

Hi Gillian,

I thought that I would  drop you a note to again thank you, Mr. Small and the owner of Mirage for allowing us to spend a truly wonderful and blissful time in this beautiful home!!!  We all felt as though we were in our own home( i.e. what a wonderful dream that would be!)  as the house has such a warm glow to it. Of course, the location of the house, its design and its furnishings make that feeling possible.

And I can not say enough about the wonderful housekeeping  of Donna and Althea! Having them present each day seemed as though we had added family members to enjoy our family get together.  Each of them was so warm and friendly and helpful to us that we soon thought of them as part of our family!!

We will always think fondly of our time there and we, of course, want you to remember us as among your best guests.

Again my thanks for your assistance, hospitality and being there for us,

Best regards,
Greg and Christine

My family and I had a ball, especially the kids. The surroundings were clean and comfortable, everything was on point. Much of our days was spent in the pool where some of us who could not swim became confident in the deep end in less than a week, I am happy to say I no longer fear the deep. Special thanks to Gillian for being such a very helpful and understanding person. My sister who resides in the US has already indicated that she and the grand kids would be returning in the near future. Luciana is more than a home away from home. Again thanks much for a wonderful vacation Gillian and your staff.

My fam just  spent our dream vacation at Black Rock Dreams, Flambouyant Suite. The property is beyond five star, beach front, exceedingly well maintained and thoughtfully presented, everything you need is right at your fingertips. Gillian is wonderful and so accomodating and helpful, she made the entire process completely effortless. The beach is super private, world class, nothing to compare to a vacation at the Flambouyant. I will be back again and again and again. Thank you Gillian for helping us to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Hi Gillian,

We loved the house! The place was perfect. Thank you so much for the perfect meet and greet accompanied with avocados. Was a pleasure meeting you and the stay was awesome.

Luciana spoils us rotten.  I have vacationed in Tobago several times but after staying at Luciana, I have a completely different opinion of Tobago. I can’t  imagine going to Tobago now and not staying at Luciana.

The villa is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with high end Caribbean style furniture and lounging facilities, upgraded modern bathrooms and floor to ceiling glass panes giving ocean views in the bedrooms. Imagine waking up to that view! Out on the porch, the incredible 180 degree view of the bay with Pigeon Point and Buccoo Reef on the horizon and the well landscaped grounds, garden and nearby bird sanctuary transport you into a different wonderful and luxurious world.  Sunset is on the Porch side and I can’t begin to tell you how beautiful this is. Every evening  is a Kodak moment.

Luciana comes with a state of the art sound system, video library, cable and internet (not that you will ever need it).  If you are like us, a brisk morning walk will end in a rich reward at Grange Bay, Mt. Irvine Bay or if you’re a trooper Grafton Beach. This is where we saw our first turtle hatchling, our first Mot Mot bird and our first Cocrico hatchlings. The first half of the day we normally like to spend exploring one of the nearby beaches where the snorkelling is always surprisingly good. The salt water pool and adjoining hot tub is where both grown-ups and kids spend most afternoons. There is an incredible multi-level coral fish pond that stretches the length building. It borders the entrance way to the house. So as you enter, the sound of rippling water immediately transports  your spirit into vacation mode.

Luciana redefines Tobago for me and my family. It is truly a wonderful and luxurious vacation home.

My family and I stayed recently at Luciana Villa.  This villa has such a welcoming feel about it from the time you walk in. The view from the balcony is breath taking. Everything that you need for your comfort, has been provided.  The place is clean and spacious and has different cosy areas where you can sit and chat or rock back and relax.  The kids did not want to leave the pool, and so they bathed for hours while we barbecued and limed by the pool room.  I recommend this villa to anyone looking for an ideal vacation home.

Gillian was the perfect host for the perfect house 'licorish.' As a host, she went above and beyond in making sure our stay was seamless, as well as was a great help in navigating the area. She even offered transportation to the airport, which turned out to be quite necessary in a country where taxi culture is still coming along. The house was PERFECT - and the private beach access opened up to a great spot on the sea where snorkeling and diving conditions were great. I highly recommend this house and all the pleasures it can bring.

We were two families with teens visiting Tobago over feb vacation and staying at Mirage. We wanted a pool, a beach, wifi, and lots of space so that teens could be kids, and adults could relax. Mirage served us well in this regard. With its extraordinary veranda and gorgeous vista, we were all content to be at the house after a day of activities. Each room is large with a generous bathroom. The kitchen has a full constellation of serving ware, cook ware and small applainces. The linens and towels are like new. Donna, our housekeeper, was kind and lovely to have around. We had a wonderful week!

Wow! Wow! Wow!  What a great place…..what a great time.

The pics do not do Mirage justice.  When you book a place sight unseen, there is always a little trepidation.  When I arrived at Mirage all worries were quickly washed away.  This place is spectacular!  Gillian, the property manager greeted us and was every bit as warm and welcoming as when I spoke to her on the phone.  We had a large group of 14 adults and three toddlers and there was more than enough room for everyone.  We never felt we were on top of each other….this place is huge!  7 huge bedrooms with comfy beds and AC if you need it.  I slept with the door open so I could listen to the waves.

Step out of the patio and you are on the pool deck, step off the property onto a beautiful beach.  Not that the waves are large but there is a small reef that breaks the small waves and thus makes a tranquil pool directly in front of the house which was great for the toddlers.  The sunsets?  What can I say……spectacular!!!  Perfect vacation spot.  I don’t know that I’ll be staying anywhere else when I visit Tobago now.  Hated leaving!!!!!

Staying at Black Rock Dreams was better than I could have ever expected. Amenities, property management and views made this place a superb choice. This was a very special time for our family and we couldn't have been happier. We enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped modern kitchen and relaxing on the balcony with gorgeous ocean views. We were very impressed with the sleeping quarters, especially the master bedroom with a great view overlooking the ocean. Gillian was a welcoming, helpful property manager and was always willing to give great tips and advice. I would recommend staying here and would definitely go back!

Great TripAdvisor review:

“Perfection for a group who wish to spend time together and still maintain some privacy.”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 23 February 2015

Group of 27 Business School Students (we rented Mirage; Pellicano and Hibiscus - both next door)

Property:
Perfectly located on the beach (by which I mean walk out the gate and onto the sand). The villa is tidely ticked away with access via a private (and small) road away from any hustle and bustle (not that there is much in Tobago) which you would find in the busier Bon Accord adn Crown Point areas. This made for amazing privacy of our group time and comfortable relaxation under the stars at night.

House:
I found the condition of the rooms to be somewhat understated by the photos - by which I mean - the reality both in terms of size and maintenance was much better. Very spacious and comfortable - we felt like we each had our bits of the house...and some that in my three days I didnt even have the time to explore - like the pool table and mini gym downstairs!

Staff:
Again another area where this villa shone. Very friendly and attentive housekeeping staff went about there daily activities without even a whisper . But if something was required they were there in an instant and were most pleasant and helpful.

Special mention should be made of our outstanding agent Gillian Connelly, who has an intimate understanding of all the properties, the people and the services which one can access in the area. She not only organized the villas, but gave outstanding recommendations for restaurants, transportation providers, caterers and activity directors (Jay) - all of whom were her personal friends and who were much more cost effective and pleasant than their competitors (I speak from years of experience visiting Tobago).

I would highly recommend all three of these villas, and that you book through Gillian - gillian@tobagovillasareus.com.

Enjoy your trip - we certainly did!

  • Stayed February 2015, travelled with friends

Wow...what a fantastic view looking out from the Licorish House. The pictures on the web site do not do it justice.   My husband and I and daughter age 13 came from Texas, USA to visit my brother, his wife and daughter age 11 who are living in Port of Spain, Trinidad.  First off we had a fantastic stay in POS but finished our visit at Licorish House in Tobago.  We stayed 3 nights from March 12, 2015.  Gillian and her staff were very prompt with having a driver waiting to pick up the 6 of us at the airport.  The driver was also kind enough to bring us to the grocery store on the way to Licorish house to pick up food supplies.  When the gate opened at Licorish house we were plesantly surprised at how nice the view and landscape was.  The house was neat and clean.  Three bedrooms and three bathrooms.  The deck was perfect for relaxing.  Plunge pool very nice.  We were able to walk down steps from the back into our private entrance to the water.  There is a good snorkeling spot about 50 feet from the steps.  Please note that there is no beach at this private entrance.  However, if you walk a short distance from the house you will be at a beautiful beach.  Ft. Bennett/Black Rock. There is a look out point with benches and you can walk along the beach.

We had "Allison" cook for us two of the nights.  This was a real treat to experence local cooking.  If you want to eat out, the house is located within walking distance to several restaurants.  We had an awesome meal at "The fish pot".

Unfornately for us, the sea was too rough to go snorkeling but we did go mountain biking.  The mountain biking trip was fun and interesting.  We were able to see true village life and also ride along the shore to see outstanding views.  Our bike ride ended at No Man's Land for a swim.

In summary, I would recommend a stay at Licorish House.  I only wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

My husband and I had two wonderful weeks at the beginning of January staying at Mahi Mahi,  I cannot begin to say what a lovely holiday we had. The apartment is lovely, extremely comfortable and beautifully located. There are a few good restaurants close by namely The Seahorse, The Fish Pot and Pleasant Prospect Cafe - all excellent. The pool is lovely and just through a little gate a  long sandy beach - what more could anyone want !!  It was a pleasure to meet Gillian, Jay and Nikki, all of whom did their best to make sure that our holiday was a pleasure.  We look forward to returning - hopefully next year !!

Bayview Villa ticks all the boxes and we have already booked our return next year. Stayed for the first week in the Crew's Nest, a romantic spacious and very private studio on the ground floor with veranda, and the second week in the  Captain's Quarters, the airy 3 bed apartment on the top floor with a big wrap around veranda with cool  breezes and panoramic views of the sea. All fascilities were excellent in both apartments. The villa is built into the hillsde and surrounded and hidden by tropical trees and vegetation  within the garden and beyond with a great view of Stonehaven Bay ( from the Captains's Quarter) which along with the adjoining  Mt Irvine Bay and its golf course are arguably the best locations in Tobago, being beautifull, quiet, safe and both with  one or two layed-back resturants/bars and also water sport hire shops. Bayview also benefits from being in the small, attractive and quite lively hilltop village area of Prospect which has a couple of shops and resturants for evening dining. The drive to Crown Point is about 20 mins.Stonehaven beach is very close by,down the garden steps, across the road and about 200 m further on; a 3-5 min stroll.

This is the 4th or 5th time we have visited Tobago. Bayview Villa, with its location, quality of accomodation and the service provided (including complimentary basic start up grocieries) on arrival and pick up from the airport is undoubltedly the best. We always hire a car to easilly get around although arguable it is not required here although  convenient Thanks so much Gillian for your 'no-fuss' organization and arrangements and Cheryl for keeping the place so clean and 'ship-shape' and of course for the friendly chats.

Pellicano is a beautiful property that I have absolutely no hesitation recommending to you.

PROS

The house is very spacious and beautifully decorated.

We were there with my in-laws who are older so they were able to have a bedroom and bathroom downstairs which was very convenient for them

It is on the beach so you have a spectacular view of the ocean

Fully air-conditioned

I loved that the kitchen has a door to close off from the living room area, so that we opened the doors to the patio and pool all day

The kitchen is very very well equipped with everything that you would need.

Lots of towels and linens

The bedrooms are very large and very comfortable, with large bathrooms as well.

I have a 2 year old so I was very surprised to find a toy room with lots of toys and books for him.

The staff that come daily to clean the house and make beds are lovely and they are very good at what they do.

The pool is spectacular and also has a lot of pool toys etc., if you have any children you do not need to bring anything for them

You have to come out of your gated entrance to walk on to the beach.  There are 2 access points - 1 next to the house, so that takes you 2 minutes to get on to the beach; the 2nd is after the house next door so that takes 3 minutes.

There is a breakwater directly in front of the house and it is maybe 3-4 meters wide.  We enjoyed this as it's like having a salt water pool to relax in, if you want to swim further out, you can walk a few meters down the beach

CONS

Was not able to stay for long enough....... :)

The pool area is so nice that we hardly went into the ocean

Honestly there is nothing about the house that I can complain about.  We had an amazing stay and cannot wait to go back.  It's better than staying in a hotel as you will definitely feel at home.

The house is very secure, we never had any fears (and I am a very fearful person always concerned about being outside, especially at night).  We met some of the neighbours while taking walks on the beach and they were all very nice.  Gillian is great, she's very accommodating and always available if you need anything, however we had no reason to call her until it was time to leave.

I hope you stay as I am sure it will be a very memorable visit.

My family and I stayed in the Mahi Mahi suite at Black Rock Dreams at the end of November, 2014. It was a great trip and the accomodations and location couldn't have been better. Being right on the beach, and with an excellent pool, was great with our two little children. We could easily do a nice circuit of beach, back to the pool to escape the sun, then upto the condo to rest, and then repeat. Although we mostly cooked for ourselves, There were a few restaurants within walking distance, including the excellent Fish Pot. And Gillian was very helpful in arranging tours, taxis and providing advice. We did an excellent day trip to Castara. We hope to go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful get away.

My family stayed at hibiscus villa from the 10 th to the 14th August 2014, ad i must say its was beautiful, hearing the waves crashing against the rocks , was awesome the kids had a wonderful time , it was pool, pool and more pool, the water was warm, the kitchen is big and every thing works ,it was fully stocked with pots and pans that you will want to use.the bedrooms are big and spacious and the bathrooms also,Miss Gillian is pleasant and the lady that came daily to clean up was a plus she is pleasant with a smile, the only down side was the steps as we had the upstairs bedroom....we are not use to stairs lol..over all we will love to stay there again.

My family and I stayed at Bayview Villa for 3 nights and it was very comfortable, we loved that it was very spacious and clean. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing with a great view of the ocean. My daughter had a blast in the pool and overall a great place for a vacation. We would definitely be back again.
