Imagine a stretch of beach so solitary, the calm is overwhelming. The occasional pelican swoops and plunges cerulean waters for her next meal. Sun and water kiss the sand into a mosaic of sparkles, treating the eyes to an unexpected indulgence, an oasis of flourish and luxury bosomed in nature. But thankfully this Mirage is real.
Villa Mirage marries luxury and practicality with wicker and wood accents warming things up, making its many living areas feel like home. The pool is conveniently central in terms of any one of its many cosy corners for parents to relax but still be handy to supervise younger swimmers. The two-tiered terrace is so wide and long, it's a perfect cinema for the daily watching of seaside dramas going on. There's a recreation room with a mini-gym and pool table, with stand-up bar for man-cave activities any time of the day or night.
Seven spacious bedrooms all come with their own private and separately stunning baths. All five bedrooms in the upper villa let out onto balconies with breath-taking views of the Caribbean Sea. There are two bedrooms in the basement, one of which is its own fully self-catering apartment with a full second kitchen and separate entrance ideal for any kind of event going on. Close to the pool with its own built-in entertainment, the basement is also an especially cool place for the younger generation to escape to.
Villa Mirage is super versatile and simply perfect for bigger groups or even smaller ones with varying space and privacy requirements. But, please do note, this is no boutique hotel! Guests can be assured that they will be guaranteed exclusive access to the entire property, even if they do decide to take advantage of one of our lesser offers to rent only the top floor suites, let's say, forgoing access to the other four bedrooms. Or renting only five bedrooms is another convenient option. Except for Christmas and New Year's, the opportunity is always there to impress at Mirage, without having to rent all seven bedrooms.
One of our happy couples has been kind enough to give us permission to share their memorable experience of getting married at Mirage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdPw7gy_FDA

Group / Family Paradise
This was our first trip staying with another family and Mirage was the PERFECT setting. We were a total group of 10, ranging in age from 5-70, and everyone got exactly the vacation they were looking for! The pictures DO NOT do justice to the house - it was way bigger and more luxurious than we imagined, which made it possible for our group to be as together or as separate as we chose. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the walls are incredibly thick, enhancing the feeling of privacy. At the same time, the common spaces are extremely large and conducive for large gatherings for dinner or play. We were able to put our children in bed and have zero concern that they would be bothered by the noise of the adults staying up. The balcony views are exquisite and expansive. The house/groundskeepers are extremely attentive and the property's cleanliness is thoroughly maintained, inside and out.
The ocean experience, literally right outside the back gate was also incredible. The children were able to build sand castles and play on the beach and in the large tide pool that settles right off the back of the property. We were able to see many fish, crabs, sea urchins and even an octopus! We took the short, but rugged beach/ocean walk down to Black Rock a couple of times and it made a beautiful backdrop for pictures and family-friendly adventure! We were also thoroughly impressed with Gillian, Mr. Small and all those we met who serviced Mirage. Throughout our week, we did have some minor issues arise, as soon as we notified them, they were very quick to resolve them, which made their customer service even more notable. They were intent on making our stay fabulous, and succeeded, we cannot thank them enough! Although you could have a complete vacation and almost never leave the property, there is a ton of beauty throughout the island and I would highly recommend taking a tour of the forts, rainforest, beaches/bays and all the wonder of the island. It is truly a unique experience, you'll be glad you visited and will be just as eager as we are to return! NOTE: Travel on the island can be a little tricky if you're not familiar. We chose to rely on local drivers. With our large party, we were even able to have the oversized van driver who met us at the airport transport us for most of our stay. You will probably save frustration and money by utilizing the local taxi/transport options.
Happiness at Mirage
I thought that I would drop you a note to again thank you, Mr. Small and the owner of Mirage for allowing us to spend a truly wonderful and blissful time in this beautiful home!!! We all felt as though we were in our own home( i.e. what a wonderful dream that would be!) as the house has such a warm glow to it. Of course, the location of the house, its design and its furnishings make that feeling possible. And I can not say enough about the wonderful housekeeping of Donna and Althea! Having them present each day seemed as though we had added family members to enjoy our family get together. Each of them was so warm and friendly and helpful to us that we soon thought of them as part of our family!!
We will always think fondly of our time there and we, of course, want you to remember us as among your best guests. Again my thanks for your assistance, hospitality and being there for us.
Extraordinary veranda and gorgeous vista
We were two families with teens visiting Tobago over feb vacation and staying at Mirage. We wanted a pool, a beach, wifi, and lots of space so that teens could be kids, and adults could relax. Mirage served us well in this regard. With its extraordinary veranda and gorgeous vista, we were all content to be at the house after a day of activities. Each room is large with a generous bathroom. The kitchen has a full constellation of serving ware, cook ware and small applainces. The linens and towels are like new. Donna, our housekeeper, was kind and lovely to have around. We had a wonderful week!
This place is spectacular!
Wow! Wow! Wow! What a great place…..what a great time.
The pics do not do Mirage justice. When you book a place sight unseen, there is always a little trepidation. When I arrived at Mirage all worries were quickly washed away. This place is spectacular! Gillian, the property manager greeted us and was every bit as warm and welcoming as when I spoke to her on the phone. We had a large group of 14 adults and three toddlers and there was more than enough room for everyone. We never felt we were on top of each other….this place is huge! huge bedrooms with comfy beds and AC if you need it. I slept with the door open so I could listen to the waves. Step out of the patio and you are on the pool deck, step off the property onto a beautiful beach. Not that the waves are large but there is a small reef that breaks the small waves and thus makes a tranquil pool directly in front of the house which was great for the toddlers. The sunsets? What can I say……spectacular!!! Perfect vacation spot. I don’t know that I’ll be staying anywhere else when I visit Tobago now. Hated leaving!!!!!
